CALIFORNIA UPDATE Association to Be Honored We recently learned that the California Transit Association will be among the honorees next week when the California Association for Coordinated Transportation (CalACT) presents its annual awards recognizing outstanding achievement on behalf of public transportation in California. The award presentation will be part of next week's CalACT Spring Conference, taking place April 19-22 in Indian Wells. Doran Barnes, Chair of the California Transit Association Executive Committee and Executive Director of Foothill Transit, will be on hand to accept the award. Online registration for the CalACT Spring Conference is still open. In addition to bringing together transit executives, vendors and other stakeholders, the event includes a golf outing at the Indian Wells Golf Resort, and a half-day tour of Joshua Tree National Park. Alternative Clean Transportation Expo The California Transit Association has signed on as an endorsing organization for the Alternative Clean Transportation Expo, taking place May 3-7 at the Long Beach Convention Center. The ACT Expo will attract both buyers and sellers of clean vehicle technologies, and create a forum for discussion and networking between fleet operators, purchasers, transportation managers, air quality professionals, transportation policy makers, fuel systems and suppliers, and more. Sessions at ACT Expo will provide the latest information on funding opportunities, regulatory policies, and inside details on new and emerging technologies in North America. Third Move LA Conference Move LA plans its third annual conference for June 21 in Los Angeles. The organization's mission is to build a broad constituency that will advocate for the development of a comprehensive, diverse, robust, clean, and financially sound public transportation system for Los Angeles County, and champion strategies to accelerate its implementation. This year's event is entitled "Big Vision & Good Sense: Transportation Conference III." Click here for more details. |
