CALIFORNIA UPDATE

Association to Be Honored
at Next Week's CalACT Conference

We recently learned that the California Transit Association will be among the honorees next week when the California Association for Coordinated Transportation (CalACT) presents its annual awards recognizing outstanding achievement on behalf of public transportation in California.

The award presentation will be part of next week's CalACT Spring Conference, taking place April 19-22 in Indian Wells. Doran Barnes, Chair of the California Transit Association Executive Committee and Executive Director of Foothill Transit, will be on hand to accept the award.

Online registration for the CalACT Spring Conference is still open. In addition to bringing together transit executives, vendors and other stakeholders, the event includes a golf outing at the Indian Wells Golf Resort, and a half-day tour of Joshua Tree National Park. Alternative Clean Transportation Expo
Coming to Long Beach May 3-7

The California Transit Association has signed on as an endorsing organization for the Alternative Clean Transportation Expo, taking place May 3-7 at the Long Beach Convention Center.

The ACT Expo will attract both buyers and sellers of clean vehicle technologies, and create a forum for discussion and networking between fleet operators, purchasers, transportation managers, air quality professionals, transportation policy makers, fuel systems and suppliers, and more. Sessions at ACT Expo will provide the latest information on funding opportunities, regulatory policies, and inside details on new and emerging technologies in North America. Third Move LA Conference
Scheduled for June 21

Move LA plans its third annual conference for June 21 in Los Angeles. The organization's mission is to build a broad constituency that will advocate for the development of a comprehensive, diverse, robust, clean, and financially sound public transportation system for Los Angeles County, and champion strategies to accelerate its implementation. This year's event is entitled "Big Vision & Good Sense: Transportation Conference III." Click here for more details.

Register Today for
Spring Legislative Conference
May 17-18 in Sacramento

Registration is now open for the 45th Annual Spring Legislative Conference, California Hanging in the Balance. The event is a comprehensive and informative two-day event that goes beyond politics in Sacramento to include a special pre-conference policy symposium on transit’s role in SB 375 implementation, perspectives from key elected officials and other leading decisionmakers, as well as valuable attendee networking time. Presentation Proposals
Now Being Accepted
for Fall Conference

Plans are well under way for our 46th Annual Fall Conference and Expo, scheduled for November 2-4 in San Jose. The Association’s Program and Conference Committee has issued a Call for Presentations in its efforts to plot the slate of concurrent sessions to be offered at this year’s event. 

Don’t miss the opportunity to share your expertise with your peers as a speaker at this year’s event. Submit your proposal that lets us know your vision for a session and its educational value to our members and conference attendees. Originally, April 14 had been set as the deadline for proposals.
