The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) is rallying the troops to promote the many benefits of public transportation. Part of this effort is the "Telling Our Story" campaign, through which APTA seeks to capture stories of how transit plays a critical role in the lives of people across the country.

APTA is urging all transit providers, allies and advocates to get involved in this important initiative. To make things easier, they've created a new Telling Our Story website to collect those testimonials to the value of transit. You can also help by signing the national public transportation online petition urging Congress to pass a long-term surface transportation bill that authorizes increased federal investment in public transportation. Transit employees, riders, and advocates are encouraged to sign the petition as well, which asks Congress to act now to support public transportation.
