Benefits of Membership

There are many advantages to becoming a member of the California Transit Association. The three primary benefits of membership include advocacy, resources, and networking and education.

ADVOCACY
Working in the State Capitol,
our legislative advocates have successfully lobbied for increased transit funding and transit-friendly policy, resulting in billions of dollars for the state’s public transportation industry. The California Transit Association believes that involving its members results in successful lobbying. Members are prepared and encouraged to write letters, visit legislators, and testify before legislative committees and rule-making agencies.

RESOURCES
The California Transit Association regularly provides invaluable
informational reports and updates to members, including our Executive Director's Report, a weekly electronic update on transportation policy news and Association activities, and up-to-the minute online updates on breaking news from the Capitol.  Members also receive our Annual Fare Summary and Directory & Resource Guide.

NETWORKING
California Transit Association members have tremendous
opportunities to interact with other transit professionals through committee meetings, conferences, and workshops. We host two conferences a year (Spring Legislative Conference and Fall Conference & EXPO) which include educational opportunities to learn from peers and industry experts, along with a large exposition to showcase the latest that transit suppliers have to offer.

Our members are also invited to serve on one of our standing committees:  Finance & Management, Legislative, Maintenance, Membership, Program & Conference, Rail Operations & Regulatory, Small Operators, and Transit Operations.
